Terms of Service

1. Use of the Service

The Service is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial, educational use. You may access it from anywhere in the world subject to local law. No account is required.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically download large portions of the vocabulary data without permission.
• Attempt to interfere with the Service's availability, security, or performance (including denial-of-service attacks).
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code of the application except as permitted by law.
• Use the Service to violate any law or to infringe the rights of others.
• Bypass, disable, or interfere with advertisements served on the Service.

3. Intellectual property

The VocabBondhu brand, design, source code, audio recordings, and the curated Bengali translations are the property of the VocabBondhu team. The underlying English vocabulary list is sourced from uefap.org/vocabulary and remains the intellectual property of its original authors.

You may use the Service for personal study, and you may quote individual word entries with attribution. Any large-scale reuse, republication, or commercial use of the data requires prior written permission.

4. User-generated data

The Service stores your learning progress under an anonymous identifier as described in our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of your progress data and may clear it at any time by deleting your browser's site storage or uninstalling the app.

5. Advertising

The Service is intended to be supported by third-party advertising — primarily Google AdSense (web) and, in a future release, Google AdMob (mobile) — but no ads currently run on the Service; we have not yet been approved for AdSense. Once advertising is enabled, advertisements shown to you will be served by these third parties and will not be endorsed by VocabBondhu. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements or for transactions you enter into with advertisers.

6. Accuracy of content

The vocabulary entries — including parts of speech, Bengali translations, example sentences, and pronunciations — are provided as-is and may contain errors. While we work to keep the data accurate and educational, VocabBondhu should be used as a study aid, not as a definitive linguistic authority. Always consult an authoritative dictionary or qualified teacher for examination preparation.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall VocabBondhu, its contributors, or its hosting providers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising from your access to or use of the Service.

9. Modifications

We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any time, particularly in response to abuse or activity that violates these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Any dispute arising from or related to the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh, except where prohibited by applicable consumer-protection law.
